Four athletes from the Highlands are currently in Australia’s Gold Coast for the Commonwealth Games.

Ross-shire’s Alan Clyne and Greg Lobban are among the favourites to win a gold medal in the squash men’s doubles, and they will both also be competing in singles action.

The men’s singles tournament lasts from today until Monday and the doubles start the next day on Tuesday. The gold medal match, should they make it that far, is on Sunday, April 15.

Karen Darke will be competing in the women's wheelchair paratriathlon category, which is making it's debut at the Commonwealth Games this year.

She sits 11th in the International Triathlon Union’s rankings, but will look to outperform that on Saturday.

And Ardross cyclist Kyle Gordon is making his first appearance at the games, as part of a Scottish squad of four.

He is particularly targeting the men's individual road time trial on Tuesday, but other cycling events are underway from as early as today.
