Three goals from Nathan Austin set Inverness on their way to a dominant win over Dumbarton.

Caley Thistle went behind 13 minutes in. Andrew Stirling easily went past Ricky Calder who committed himself early, and cut the ball back to Grant Gallacher.

Ridgers got a hand on Gallacher’s shot, but it wasn’t enough to steer the ball away from the top corner.

But ICT wouldn’t be behind for long. Just a few minutes later Aaron Doran had a pop at goal from 25 yards that flashed past Scott Gallacher and into the right hand side of the net.

And as the half enters it’s final stages, Doran again took the game by the scruff of the neck, playing in Nathan Austin.

The striker went round the Dumbarton keeper, and managed to squeeze the ball just inside the far post from an extremely tight angle.

And in the second half, ICT were practically running riot. The best passing exchange of the match saw Vigurs give the ball to Oakley, who threaded the ball through to Polworth in the box. And the midfielder chipped the ball over the keeper to Nathan Austin, who was left with a simple finish to make it 3-1.

Caley Thistle’s fourth was not nearly as easy on the eye. Joe Chalmers’ free kick resulted in a scramble for possession inside the Dumbarton box, and eventually Iain Vigurs stabbed it home to extend the lead to three goals.

And Austin would complete his hat-trick in the 66 minute. Calder made a run down the left wing, and he squared the ball to Austin who angled the ball into the far corner with his first touch to kill off the match.
