Edinburgh University win most events at Caley Marina Inverness Fours/Quads and Small Boats Heads as host club takes hat trick in Highland capital

In ideal conditions, a record number of over 600 crews from all over Scotland took part in the Caley Marina Inverness Fours/Quads and Small Boats Heads on the Caledonian Canal.

The host club had plenty to celebrate, winning three events – the women’s restricted one coxless pairs, open novice coxed quadruple sculls and mixed masters quadruple sculls.

Edinburgh University Boat Club won the most events across the two-day regatta, followed in second place by St Andrew Boat Club and George Watsons College Boat Club in third place.

In the Fours/Quads events, Edinburgh Uni/St Andrews BC’s Alexander Patton’s crew was the fastest of the weekend in a time of 14:40.76.

The fastest women’s crew was the Edinburgh University BC Open Quad Scull Isabel Jonsson in a time of 16:08.15.

In the Small Boats events, the quickest men’s crew was the St Andrew BC restricted one double scull Dale Flockhart in 15:28.51.

Fastest women’s crew was the junior 18 double scull from the Glasgow Academy BC Kloe Hunter in 18:10.06.

In Coxless Pairs events, the fastest crews were the Edinburgh University BC crew stroked by Henry Pooley in 16:50.44 and the Aberdeen Schools Rowing Association’s junior 18 crew stoked by Freya Hughson in 19:08.37 seconds.

Fastest women’s single scull was the Edinburgh University BC Open sculler Isobel Clements in 19:14.11, whilst in the Open Single Sculls event the fastest men’s single sculler was Jack Burns from Edinburgh University BC in 16:55.87.
