HIGHLAND are targeting successive away victories tomorrow as they look to consolidate their position in the leading pack of Caledonia Regional League Division One.

The Greens left in late against Glenrothes, but showed plenty of character to come back from 25-13 down in the latter stages of the match, and win it 28-25.

The victory leaves Highland sitting fourth in the table, five points behind leaders Aberdeenshire, but with a game in hand.

Tomorrow, they make the trip to Caithness, who like the Highland, have only lost one of their four league fixtures during this campaign.

For director of rugby Hugh Mackintosh, the main concern ahead of tomorrow will be what size of squad he can take through to Caithness.

Jamie MacDonald had to come off last weekend with a bad cut to his eye, while a cut to the forehead also ended Euan Watson’s involvement early in the match at Glenrothes.

Kenny Cameron could be doubtful as well for the Greens after he succumbed to a twisted ankle in the same game.

Meanwhile, Highland Reds are at Canal Park tomorrow for their Caledonia Regional League Division Three North West fixture against Strathspey, while the under-13s travel to Gordonstoun for a friendly.

On Sunday, both Highland’s under-13 and under-14 teams welcome Aberdeen Grammar to Inverness for friendly matches with the under-16s making the journey to Caithness for a league game.
