CALEY Thistle have posted just one Ladbrokes Premiership clean sheet this season – but boss Richie Foran loves his entertainers.

Although their recent 3-0 win at Motherwell is their only shut-out in the league so far, the Highlanders emerge from the international break on Saturday at home to Aberdeen as one of the highest scorers with 19 goals from 13 fixtures.

Foran concedes that errors have often let opponents through, with their recent 3-0 defeat against Celtic meaning they have leaked 24 goals, the worst tally in the division.

However, he says attacking flair suits the players he has at the club and he’s far from troubled by their approach, with the thrilling 3-3 draw with Hearts last month a perfect example of their good and bad sides in a breathless 90 minutes.

He explained: "I think overall we have defended well this season. A couple of mistakes cost us, otherwise I’m sure we’d have got more clean sheets. We are playing very attacking football and that will, at times, leave us open, but I’m willing to play like that at the moment. I am playing a formation that will suit the players that I want to play right now. We have tweaked it by going to a 4-3-3.

"The lads in the middle of the park, Iain Vigurs, Greg Tansey and Ross Draper, have a great understanding. Big Lonsana (Doumbouya) is getting his goals now as well and we have Aaron Doran back in and Liam Polworth too before his injury, all very nice fluent footballers. They are all brave and have the composure and can see the pass and the vision. We have a good balance in our team right now and we have a really strong bench too."
