Goalkeepers needed to break the ice

An ice hockey club is looking for new recruits to save the day and help realise their ambitions of playing in national competition this season.

Inverness Highlanders are desperate to net new goalkeepers to play for their three youth teams in the upcoming campaign.

The club have over 30 players in their squad at present, but finding someone to play in goal is proving problematic.

Now the club are planning to hold a trial day to find goalkeepers to enable them to take to the ice.

Head coach Steven Innes said the sport is on the rise in the city but said trying to find goalkeepers is holding them back.

“The goalkeeper issue is a problem for us,” said Innes.
