Inverness Caledonian Thistle missed the chance to go top of the Championship after they were sunk by a first half blitz at Greenock Morton.
Goals from Scott Muirhead, Grant Gillespie and an own goal from David Carson saw Morton kill the game off before half time. Cameron Blues added a fourth in the second half in a deserved victory for the hosts.
But the main talking point was goalkeeper Mark Ridgers being substituted for Cammy Mackay at half time, despite not being injured head coach Billy Dodds confirmed after the match.
Caley Thistle's night of misery started after five minutes when Ridgers was unable to hold Muirhead's effort from 20-yards out and was unable to stop the ball rolling over the line.
It got worse eight minutes later when Morton were awarded a penalty when Max Ram was found guilty of pushing Efe Ambrose on the edge of the six yard box.
Ridgers dived to his right to prevent Gillespie's penalty finding the net.
But no Caley Thistle player was alert to the rebound as Gillespie managed to redeem himself by firing home from a tight angle in the six-yard box.
Morton were gifted their third goal just before half time when attempting to clear the ball, David Carson nodded a corner kick into his own net.
Ridgers was substituted at half time for Cammy Mackay with Dodds confirming the goalkeeper was not injured but didn't comment further on the matter.
Morton found the net again 15 minutes from time when Blues latched on to a ball in the box and fired past MacKay to complete a miserable night for Inverness.
