Glenurquhart knocked out of Camanachd Cup first round by Skye

Glenurquhart’s quest to win the Camanachd Cup fell at the first hurdle as they were defeated 2–0 by Skye at Blairbeg Park.
Goals from James Pringle and Ross Gordon was enough to end the Drumnadrochit club’s hopes for another season.
Strathglass also progressed to the next round as they defeated Inverness 1–0 at Bught Park with Steven Hyslop scoring the only goal of the game.
National Division leaders Beauly also advanced to the next round as they thrashed Glengarry 6–2.
Ross Forbes and Sandy Elrick put Beauly 2–0 up, but Shaun Nicolson pulled one back for Glengarry. Elrick made it 3–1 to Beauly before half time and the visitors dominated the second half with goals from Finlay MacLennan and Jack Macdonald’s double with Nicolson scoring a second as a consolation.
In the Premiership, Lovat continued their 100 per cent winning record as they defeated Kyles Athletic 3–0 at Tighnabruaich.
Greg Matheson scored twice with Marc MacLachlan also finding the net.
Kingussie remain top after edging Glasgow Mid-Argyll 1–0 thanks to a Ruaraidh Anderson strike.
Caberfeidh lost 4–3 at Newtonmore in a seven-goal thriller at The Eilan.
Max Campbell and Fraser MacKintosh put Newtonmore 2–0 up but Craig Morrison scored a double to level the game. Aaron MacBean put Newtonmore 3–2 up at half time but Kevin Bartlett equalised for Caberfeidh in the 57th minute.
Campbell scored 15 minutes from time to give Newtonmore victory.
Kinlochshiel were held to a 1–1 draw at Fort William. Oban Camanachd won 4–0 at Kilmallie.
In North One, Lovat beat Kingussie 2–1, Lochcarron beat Glenurquhart 3–0 and Newtonmore beat Skye 2–1.
In North Two, Beauly beat Lochaber 5–1 Boleskine lost 4–3 to Strathspey and Kilmallie beat Inverness 1–0.
