NEWTONMORE have the chance to put the seal on another championship tomorrow when they face Glenurquhart at noon in front of their own fans.

A win would put them in an almost unassailable position with a game left to play and a vastly superior goal difference to nearest challengers Kyles Athletic.

But ‘More manager Norman MacArthur will be leaving nothing to chance against a Glenurquhart side who took them to penalties in this season’s MacTavish Cup semi-final.

He has openly criticised the fixture scheduling which sees his side play the Glen home and away in their final two matches.

The Glen have produced a storming finish to the season and followed up their MacAulay Cup triumph with a fine away win over Inveraray.

A win or a draw for Glenurquhart would set up a nerve-jangling return at Blairbeg in two weeks time. The Glen will be without Ruaridh Cameron, out with a damaged hand, while the availability of James Macpherson is also in doubt.

Bute and Kinlochshiel complete their schedule in Rothesay where two points for the Wester Ross side would see them finish in a respectable mid-table position in their first season in the Premier Division.

In the Marine Harvest leagues, North Division One leaders and promotion hopefuls Skye are in Beauly looking for a repeat of their 4-1 win over the Greens in Portree last month.

But Beauly will provide a sterner test on their own pitch and they ran Lochaber very close in last Saturday’s 4-2 defeat.

Conor Cormack (ribs) and Liam Mutch (knee) were forced out against Lochaber and could be a doubt for the clash with Skye.

Lochaber face Caberfeidh and will be travelling in confident mood after recording several high scoring wins over the Strathpeffer side earlier in the season.
