Game on in the Inverness Winter Darts League

The Inverness Winter Darts League kicked off with defending champions Portland A starting their campaign with a 10-2 victory over Battlefield Bullies.

The only 180 of the match coming from Bullies player Darren Maclean.

There were top finishes from Shane Wharton and Barry Maclean, both Portland, with 151 and 120 respectively.

Innes Bar C started well in their new venue, as they now play from the Raigmore Motel, with a 9-3 win against Still Game.

Still Game’s Jim Newlands had a 180 while Nigel Goulding hit 174 for the Innes C.

Top finishes came from Jim Paterson with 116 and 106 and he also hit a 15-dart leg.

Tarradale hit double figures against Innes Power as they romped to a 10-2 win in Muir of Ord.

David Fraser and Alan Fraser both notched maximums for the home side.

After a very successful Summer season East End Arrows continued where they left off with a 7-5 win over Jackos.

Maximums went to Kevin Chisholm and Jamie Curry, both from Jackos.

In the top B League derby match Innes Spikeys earned the bragging rights with a fine 9-3 win over stable-mates Innes Bar.

Tom Storey hit a 180 for Spikeys while Innes captain Gordy Redmond had a 143 checkout.

Castle Street Elite defeated Blacksmiths 7-5 to claim their first points of the year.

British Legion got their season off to a flying start with a 7-5 against Thistle Inn.

In the C League Arrowsmiths defeated new side Keppoch Belles 9-3 and go joint top of the league at this very early stage. Maximums came from Ian Mitchell from Arrowsmiths and Keppoch player Lesley Dawson.

The other new team in this year’s championships, SoBar Pirates, lost their opening match 3-9 against 3Scots whose Ryan Richardson checked out on 116.

Raigmore Motel defeated Blazin 81 8-4 and join the other three winning sides at the top of the division.

Innes X had an excellent 7-5 win over Canteen and would seem to have survived the exodus of players forming new side Keppoch Belles.
