Shinty clubs confirm pre-season schedule ahead of 2020 season

With less than two months until the official start to the new shinty season, many clubs have arranged a series of friendly and challenge cup fixtures in preparation for the competitive action which gets under way on Saturday, March 7 with a full Mowi league programme.

The Camanachd Association have league composition matters to finalise before a full fixture list can be released, however the governing body expects this to be resolved fairly soon.

Inverness have arranged four pre-season fixtures in the run up to their North Division One campaign with Premiership side Kinlochshiel providing their opposition on Saturday, January 25.

At the time of going to press the venue has yet to be confirmed with weather and pitch conditions at The Bught and Reraig in the days prior to the game likely to be an influential factor.

'Shiel will undoubtedly provide stern opposition for the city side who will be hoping to mount a challenge for the North Division One title this season.

Inverness manager Callum McLeod found his team docked eight points before a ball was hit last season, and not having to face such a sanction this time around may enable Inverness to play a part in the race for the title.
