FRENCH left-back Kenny Gillet has signed a new one-year deal with Caley Thistle.

The no-nonsense, tough tackling 25-year-old, who was out for seven months with a serious knee last season, showed plenty of promise in the closing months to underline his quality at SPL level.

The former Caen player, who moved to the Highlands from Barnet last season, further bolsters the defence only three days after Ross Tokely agreed a new 12-month deal.

Striker Shane Sutherland, who made massive strides in the first-team last season, pledged his immediate future to the club at the weekend by signing a two-year contract, leaving top scorer Adam Rooney and Stuart Duff as the two out-of-contract players yet to commit.
