He might only be seven years old, but Fraser MacKenzie is already preparing to take on the world.

The Lochardil Primary School pupil has been called up to the Great Britain team that will compete at the Junior World Golf Championships in San Diego in July.

The Inverness Golf Club member will compete at the tournament against 1200 of the best golfers in the world from 56 countries.

He qualified for the team after impressing on the British Junior Golf Tour.

With a handicap of 24, MacKenzie says he has worked hard to achieve his success and has not hidden his ambition about where he wants to take his golfing career.

“I want to be the best player in the world,” he said.
