Fort boss sets his sights on rising up

FORT William boss Ally Ewen reckons his squad are ready to climb out of the Highland League bottom three next season.

The Claggan Park club are used to battling it out at the bottom of the table with Rothes and Strathspey but Ewen, with a squad of 20 raring to go, is confident of ending that run.

Their pre-season plans continue this Saturday with a game against Lowland League side East Kilbride, following a 3-0 defeat to Scottish League One side Alloa Athletic.

Although Ewen still has eyes on signing an additional two or three players, including a striker, he would be more than happy to lead the team he has now into the opening few games of the Highland League.

“I don’t want to finish bottom,” he said. “I’d like to get us back up and try and get us out of the bottom three.
