Clachnacuddin manager Jordan MacDonald not reading too much into turmoil at Forres Mechanics after dug out change ahead of Highland League Cup
Jordan MacDonald will warn Clach’s players to disregard Forres Mechanics’ poor start under new manager Gordon Connelly.
The Lilywhites manager views the Can Cans’ traumatic run of three defeats and 16 goals conceded under the past Ross County great as a probable transitional blip while the new coaching team settles in.
The teams meet tomorrow in the Highland League Cup quarter finals at Mosset Park.
Since Connelly replaced long-serving Forres predecessor Charlie Rowley, the Moray club have suffered two 7–0 thrashings to Rothes and Fraserburgh, before losing 2–0 at Wick on Saturday past.
MacDonald, fresh from Clach’s impressive 0–0 draw with high-flying Inverurie Locos last weekend, is taking nothing for granted.
“We’re always on alert against a team like Forres – they have some very good players,” he said.
“This is just a wee period of managerial change for them, a change in style. We had to do it at Clach when we took over.
“There will be too many people looking to pick holes in it already when it is a different manager. These changes don’t happen overnight.
“We’re not reading too much into Forres’s recent results. They have players who can hurt us like Allan MacPhee, Lee Fraser, Gordon McNab, Paul Brindle and Robbie Duncanson.
“We’ll prepare fully, as we always do, and be ready for a tough match.”
