Munlochy rugby star set to feature in Scotland World Cup opener on Sunday

MUNLOCHY rugby star Jade Konkel-Roberts is expected to start for Scotland against Wales in their first match of the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand on Sunday morning.

Scotland will face Wales in their first group match in Whangarei at 5.45am and will be broadcast live on STV.

Scotland’s second match is against Australia and will also be live on STV on Saturday, October 15 at 2.45am in Whangarei.

Scotland’s final group game will be against hosts New Zealand on Saturday, October 22 at 2am at Whangarei, which will also be broadcast live on STV.

Scotland had consistently qualified after hosting the tournament in 1994, but have missed the last two editions after failing to qualify from their regional competition.

Scotland qualified for the repechage after finishing in second place in the European qualifiers to Italy.

They defeated Colombia 59–3 to reach the World Cup in New Zealand.
