Former Inverness Caley Thistle midfielder joins Championship rivals Ayr United on loan from Tranmere Rovers

Former Inverness Caledonian Thistle midfielder Reece McAlear has joined Championship rivals Ayr United on a loan deal from Tranmere Rovers.

The 20-year-old has agreed to join the Honest Men on a loan deal until the end of the season from the League Two outfit.

McAlear (20) was on loan at Inverness Caledonian Thistle from Norwich City last season where he made 28 appearances and scored four goals.

He was released by Norwich City at the end of last season and joined Tranmere Rovers on a two-year contract.

McAlear had made 13 appearances for Trannmere Rovers this season before heading to Somerset Park.
