Liam Fontaine doesn’t just sing when he is winning. He hits the right notes through the hard times as well.

The Ross County vice-captain was inspired by one of his lowest spells in football to develop a parallel career as a musical recording artist.

Just five years after first picking up a guitar, self-taught Fontaine has released his debut single across music streaming services like Apple Music and Spotify.

The 32-year-old ex-Hibs and Bristol City defender has picked up rave reviews on musical websites for the soulful tones of his vocal on Life Lessons.

The release was aired at Saturday’s Highland derby, while the track and two more demo songs have proven a big hit with County team-mates.
