Lovat made a stunning start to the Mowi Premiership season when they thrashed Kinlochshiel 5–0 at Balgate.

Marc MacLachlan bagged a first half hat trick to put the Kiltarlity side firmly in control with Greg Matheson increasing their lead in the 65th minute.

MacLachlan struck again in the 82nd minute to further emphasise the home team’s victory.

Meanwhile newly promoted Kilmallie got their return to the top flight off to a superb start with a shock 2–0 win over champions Newtonmore at the Eilean.

First half scores from Daniel Stewart and Liam Cameron saw the Canal Park side pick up the points.
