A damp, but fast, track welcomed the competitors to the Woodside track at Elgin and Findlay, of Inverness, showed his pace with a dominant performance in the big wheel section.

Findlay was crowned champion of this category last year and the Safe Access Team member does not appear in any mood to relinquish his crown after claiming wins in all three races with a great display of very stylish riding.

Another Inverness rider who is part of the Safe Access Team set-up is Rod Mackenzie, who finished second overall in the 85 small wheel class, two places in front of Finlay Retson, also from Inverness.

In the autos, Jack Rodgers, of Inverness, won the first race and was runner-up in the other two to end the day second overall, while Nairn’s Henry Kerr continues to impress with his skill and determination, coming home second in the 65cc events.

Fourth place in the first of the adult B races was a great start for Beauly’s Callum Davidson, but he lost ground in the next one. However, a good recovery in the final event helped pull him back to earn sixth overall in this very competitive and experienced group.

Donny Kennedy, of Fort Augustus, did well to stay on terms with the leading group in the adult A races and as a result achieved sixth place overall.

Despite the quad track drying out very quickly and producing dusty conditions, there was no reduction in speed from the intrepid young riders and Taylor Mair, from Inverness, made the most of his opportunities to take second place for the day against some more experienced opposition.
