Dave Carson was delighted to welcome Andrew Findlater back into his Highland team last weekend against Heriot’s Blues, and says the blindside flanker has already made an impact on his return.
Findlater travelled to Edinburgh as part of his first squad since getting injured in September, and although the result did not go the Greens’ way Findlater managed to get on the scoresheet with a try in the second half.
But for head coach Carson, the effect was just as much off the pitch as it was on it.
“He lifts the players,” Carson explained.
“He reads the game really well and can pass things on to the younger guys that he is seeing during the game that we can’t necessarily see from the touchline.
“Andrew is a really experienced player and a really good one for us, a good leader too. He has an impact before and during the game, even in half-time talks.
“He sees things that sometimes the younger guys don’t, so he can pass his knowledge on and help these guys move on as well.”
