Inverness City Boxing Club athletes showed what they could do in the ring when they competed at the club’s Christmas Show at the Drumrossie Hotel last weekend.

Rising star Kian Stewart shone during the event to pick up the best boxer of the night award.

He defeated Zak Hutchison from Glenrothes Boxing Club where he gained revenge after a loss to his opponent earlier in the year.

Jonathan Karnphan was also in contention for the boxer of the night as he stopped Peter Kryger of Wellmeadow Boxing Club in the second round in a ruthless victory from the Inverness athlete.

Inverness City Boxing Club head coach Laurie Redfern says both boxers have been in tremendous form and are realising their potential.

He said: “Both Kian and Jonathan are on winning runs and there is no stopping these two boys.”

Speaking about the show overall, Redfern says all the boxers who took part put on an outstanding evening.

“It was an excellent evening where all the boxers put on a great show and all in all everyone did well.”

Alasdair Last continued his good form with his fifth win in a row as he defeated Jay Botes.

Lachlan Buick also made his debut in the ring against Erin Beith in an exhibition fight.

Inverness City Boxing Club athletes are now preparing to compete at fights and events scheduled for 2023.
