Cameron Borthwick-Jackson says he is looking forward to showing what he can do to help Ross County out of relegation trouble in the Scottish Premiership.
The 26-year-old full back arrived on loan at Dingwall from Slask Wrocław in Poland on a deal until the end of the season.
He started for Ross County in the 1-0 defeat at Celtic on Saturday and is expected to feature against Livingston at the Tony Macaroni Arena tonight.
Borthwick-Jackson says he is looking forward to proving what he is capable of with Ross County, who will be looking for victory tonight which would lift them out of the relegation zone.
Speaking about joining the Staggies, he said: “The main thing for me was about playing football.
“It has been a while since I have played a few games in a row. The club actually wanting me was another factor, it is nice to feel valued and you play better when you feel valued.
“I just want to help the team move up with my experience and I think that we can crack on now.
“I am not a young boy as I will be 27 this week, so it is up to me to bring some leadership and accountability and for the boys to look at me and be able to count on me.”
Despite losing at Celtic, Borthwick-Jackson says it was a performance which will give Ross County confidence they can get out of the bottom two.
He believes a similar sort of performance and finding the net will lead to a positive result at Livingston tonight.
“There is plenty of quality in the squad and we should be higher up the table,” he said.
“There is no reason we can’t do that. If we go out and play the way we did against Celtic, minus the start, we have a great chance.”
Speaking about the defeat at Celtic, he said: “On another day we could have got a draw. We hit the crossbar and had two good chances towards the end. It was a brave performance and showed a standard we need to keep up.”
