Michael Gardyne believes reviving the feelgood factor at Ross County after last season’s relegation disaster has been crucial to a flying start in the Championship.

The Dingwall team climbed to the top of the table on Saturday evening after patiently dismantling a stuffy and negative Falkirk.

Chasing five home wins from five in this weekend’s Irn-Bru Cup second round tussle with Raith Rovers, the Staggies certainly appear to have put last May’s disappointment behind them.

Where neighbours Caley Thistle struggled in the aftermath of relegation a year before, County, with less upheaval in personnel, seem to have avoided a similar slump.
