This week marked a double December defeat for Caley Thistle after slipping up firstly away to Greenock Morton and then at home against Arbroath, losing both matches 2-1.

The results mark the first time that Duncan Ferguson has fallen to back-to-back defeats in his time as Inverness manager, leaving the club back in 8th in the league table.

Long term season ticket holder Kenny Cameron, who previously reviewed the Airdrieonians defeat in August, attended both matches at Cappielow and the Caledonian Stadium.

Kenny believed that individual errors creeping back in to the team’s performance was costly for the first game against Greenock Morton.

“Tuesday was simply a case of individual errors and poor judgements and communication. Pass, pass, ball out of play.

“Ujdur mistake compounded with Ridgers being caught high off his line to give Oakley a goal, and then their big centre back given about an acre of space to slam home.

“We got the goal back and started to push for an equaliser but 2 or 3 minutes of good play doesn’t offset the 94 we’d been awful.”

Hoping for an improvement on Saturday, Kenny was left very disappointed against Arbroath at what he thought was the team’s worst performance during Ferguson’s time in charge.

“Saturday was just poor there was very few good points in it.

“Devine was awful for me, my stand out poor performer but you could have had 9 other players who fitted the bill for that award too.

“First goal corner then redirected I think he might have been a mile offside but he taps it in.”

The brief moment of hope Kenny saw when Caley Thistle equalised on Saturday was quickly cancelled out when Arbroath re-took the lead.

“I hoped going a goal down would wake us up and it did for a bit then getting a goal back.

“Good worked move Wotherspoon to Mckay, but then a whole 3 minutes later a ball chipped into the Arbroath boy was too easy and nobody was anywhere near him but it was a good header in the end.

“Second half was just predictable pass in a horseshoe around the midfield before Devine hoofed the ball to no one.”

Kenny believes that some of the blame must lay on the shoulders of Duncan Ferguson after the back-to-back defeats.

“It was poor from Dunc to leave the subs so late against Arbroath.

“Sheridan looked like he wanted to win headers and get into a position to score but he got no time to do so.

“I worry Dunc never made the subs until late and that’s been a couple times he’s done that but he changed the system at least on Saturday.”

Kenny admits the team’s position in the league table is now treacherous but that the nature of the league means it could still go either way going forward.

“Are we in a relegation scrap? Yes. But are we 5/6 points off 4th? Yes, so it could go either way it’s the nature of this league.

“I’m looking to see what trialists are in, 2 were reported earlier in the month with Dunc saying 2/3 more are in so could be interesting.

“We will need that depth and we need a like for like option for Billy McKay.”
