SEAN McAllister says it is not lost on the squad how far a victory could take Inverness Caledonian Thistle up the Championship.

Victory against Dunfermline Athletic tonight at the Caledonian Stadium could see Inverness move up to fifth place in the table.

Defeat and Inverness will remain in the drop zone and could be only three points above bottom if Arbroath beat Queen’s Park.

McAllister says Dunfermline will come up to Inverness full of confidence they can leave with all three points after a 3-1 win at Partick Thistle on Friday night.

But he says if they create chances like they did against Arbroath, they will look to take them and grab victory.

“They will be looking forward to the game thinking they can get the better of us,” said McAllister.

“But we will stick together, it is a big game down at the bottom. It is a big game that could take us right up the table and away from the struggle at the bottom.

“We are just focussed on ourselves, we will pick up points along the way as we’ve done and then the wins will come as well.”

Inverness Caledonian Thistle have only won twice at home this season, with those victories coming in a 1-0 win against Airdrieonians in October and a 3-1 win against Ayr United in November.

McAllister admitted their home form has been disappointing this season, but he says that they are looking to start turning that around against the Pars tonight.

“It hasn’t been great with our results,” admitted McAllister.

“But that is something we are working on and hopefully the fans will get behind us.

“It is important we get as many fans as we can down to the game and hopefully we can get across the line.

“There are a lot of injuries but when the guys get together we are happy enough and we are looking forward to the game. It is a game we need to win.”
