MIDFIELDER Sean McAllister says he is fighting fit to play a major part in helping Inverness Caledonian Thistle out of relegation trouble as he returns from injury.

After suffering a thigh injury in early March, the Northern Irishman returned to his parent club Everton for rehabilitation.

He made his return to action when he came on as a substitute in the 1-0 defeat to Raith Rovers last Friday.

McAllister feels he is getting back to his best and determined to prove himself in Caley Thistle’s final two games of the regular season.

He said: “I am feeling good. I went back to Everton for my rehab, and it went well, so I came back to Inverness quicker than I thought.

“I was not too sure whether I’d be able to come back this season, but I was glad when I heard I’d be coming back up for the last few games.

“I was in the gym for the first four weeks and then I was outside doing my running. “I just wanted to get back as quickly as possible and make sure I was fully fit. I am feeling 100 per cent now. “

Inverness can escape the relegation play-off if they win their final two games of the regular season against Dunfermline on Saturday and Greenock Morton at home next Friday.

McAllister is confident they can get half the job done at East End Park, which could prove enough if Queen’s Park fail to beat Arbroath today.

“All the lads are feeling very good going into Saturday’s game. Hopefully we can come away with the three points. “

Mcallister says he is also enjoying playing under manager Duncan Ferguson saying he is determined to learn as much as he can while he is on loan.

He said: “I love playing under the manager. He wants 100% and that’s what I like to give on the pitch.

“When I was at Everton, I was watching footage of as many Inverness games as I could.

“The team have been playing well, but just not getting results. “
