Megan Keith has broken another record.

The Inverness Harrier, who ended 2023 by becoming the European Under-23 Cross Country champion, followed it up with a big personal best in Valencia over the shorter distance on Sunday.

Her chip time was 31:20, but European Athletics use the gun time for their records.

That clocked Keith at a slightly slower 31:22 – which was still one second faster than the previous record, set by German athlete Alina Reh in 2018.

Keith is the only Scot at the top end of those European standings, with South African-born Zola Budd's 1984 effort the only other Great Britain representative anywhere near Keith's time.

Keith has also gone seventh on the overall British all-time list, with only Eilish and Liz McColgan as faster Scottish athletes.
