Caley Jags midfielder Russell Duncan will be leaving the club this summer.

RUSSELL Duncan is the first Caley Thistle player this summer told his future lies elsewhere.

With manager Terry Butcher likely to shake up the squad significantly ahead of the new season, which starts on July 23, the departure of the 30-year old, who has played more than 350 times for the Highlanders, will have raised eyebrows.

He came off the bench in Saturday's 1-0 Clydesdale Bank SPL defeat at Aberdeen and will already be looking at his various options.

A total of 15 players are out of contract at the end of this month, including top striker Adam Rooney and vice captain Grant Munro.

Butcher plans to let the players know whether they are in or out as soon as possible.

Duncan has starred in most of the Inverness club's biggest games over the years as they have risen all the way to Scotland's top-flight and will be keen to remain in the Premier League.
