MANNY Duku says his former teammates at Raith Rovers will present a tough challenge to Inverness Caledonian Thistle when the two face at Stark’s Park tomorrow in a top of the table clash.

The Dutch striker was at the Kirkcaldy club last season and helped them to third place and a play-off semi final.

Raith Rovers climbed to second in the table on goal difference last week after beating Arbroath 2–1 as Kilmarnock were held to a draw at Dunfermline. But both teams are five points behind Inverness at the summit.

Duku says he is well aware of the talent still at Raith from his time at the club, but is confident Inverness have what it takes to come out on top.

However, head coach Billy Dodds has yet to come to him and ask about his knowledge of the squad.

“There are quite a few players still there from my time, goalkeeper Jamie MacDonald, Kyle Benedictus, Reghan Tumilty and Dylan Tait.

“There are even more and they have a good core of players. Billy hasn’t asked me yet but he knows what he is doing because we’re top of the league.

“But if he needs to ask me about Raith Rovers, I am here, but he knows what he is doing.

“He watches them and us and knows what we can do best to hurt them and he will tell us what is the best thing to do.”

Duku has started most matches up front for Inverness this season, but came off the substitutes bench in the 2–0 win over Morton last week.

He is enjoying his time at the club so far and playing a part in Caley Thistle’s drive for promotion.

“I’m grateful to the fans they have been so supportive to me and the team, and we are looking to pay them back in the right way.

“Everyone at the club has been amazing from day one.

“I feel at home and welcome and the board and staff have been so good with me.”

Looking at the start of the league campaign, Duku said: “We couldn’t ask for anything more, as we are top of the league and five points clear so it has been a good start.”
