Doubles delight for Inverness darts players as winners prove a fine pair

The Inverness Winter Darts League Association Doubles Championship produced two pairs of champions.

The Innes Bar C pairing of Sandy Morrison and George Main were crowned men’s champions beating Still Game duo James Paterson and Andy Leckie in the final.

This was first title for this pairing but was Morrison’s third championship having previously won in 2010 and 2013.

The new mixed doubles champions are James Fraser and Courtney McBain following a final victory against Nicky Denoon and Sarah Stephen. This was Fraser’s first win but McBain was a previous champion in 2018.

Highland had a disappointing day as they played host to reigning champions Grampian in the Darts Corner Scottish County Championship.

The mens team lost 10-6 and the ladies were beaten 5-3 and with only one match remaining, Grampian can’t lose this year’s championship.

Thursday's league fixtures

A League: East End Arrows v Battlefield Bullies, Innes Bar C v Still Game, Portland A v Tarradale.

B League: Innes Bar v Thistle B, Innes Power v Canteen, Smithton Hotel v Castle Street Elite.

C League: Innes X v Arrowsmiths, SoBar Pirates v Raigmore, Keppoch Belles v Chieftain Storm.
