Megan Keith is celebrating yet another cross country success after becoming British Cross Challenge and Scottish Inter-District Cross Country Champion.

Running with the Scottish students' team, the Inverness Harrier convincingly earned the top step of the podium, finishing the 6km course in a time of 28:58.

That was a full 14 seconds ahead of runner up Fionnuala Ross, who in turn was four seconds ahead of Scout Adkin.

Speaking to Scottish Athletics after crossing the line, Keith said: "It was a lovely course that had a bit of everything, but it was a hard race against the girls today.

"The hill runners put in a good chase, because those hills were tough.

"That's was definitely my upper limit, so I wanted to be conscious of that for the lap lap and-a-half. I wanted to put in a hard last lap, but the conditions made that hard.

"I've got my fingers crossed (for the World Cross Challenge). I think it's another fortnight until they make the decision, so I'm hoping to be successful."

Keith was not the only Harrier in action at Scone Palace, as Lois Macrae also won a medal in the 4km under-15 girls' inter-district race.

In her case, it was a silver, as Macrae finished in 15:59 behind the west district's Zara Redmond, who crossed the line in 15:14.
