HEAD coach Billy Dodds praised the contribution Kirk Broadfoot has made to Inverness Caledonian Thistle this season after his injury time goal earned them a point against Partick Thistle.

The 37-year-old saved Inverness from defeat as his header from close range resulted in a 3–3 draw at the Caledonian Stadium on Wednesday.

Dodds hailed Broadfoot’s professionalism during his time in Inverness, saying he has made a big contribution this season.

“Big Broaders has been a revelation since he came here,” praised Dodds.

“The big man just gives you everything he’s got and that is why he has been the top professional he has been and had the career he has had.

“People talk about Kirk Broadfoot just being a good defender, but he can also play a bit too.

“A lot of people can be naive about him, he can pass the ball and hardly ever gives it away, he can see a pass and that is why he has had the career he has had.”
Dodds says Broadfoot’s late equaliser almost felt like a victory, despite it being eight games without a win for Inverness.

But the head coach believes the fighting spirit they showed on Wednesday can be the catalyst to turning their season around.

“I would have loved to have won it when you see the other results.

“But it is a point that can start something because of the way that it happened.

“We had the bit between our teeth, we realised we had to keep going and not lie down.

“You wouldn’t believe how happy I am that they showed me what they’ve got in them as it would have been so easy to feel that we were unlucky and sorry for ourselves.

“But they kept going at it which was great to see.”

Dodds hailed the performances of other players in the 3–3 draw on Wednesday night.

But he was most pleased as a team how they did not give up.

“Reece McAlear came on to his game and showed he has got the quality with his deliveries.

“Sean Welsh kept at them and I thought David Carson was back at it too. “
