The Dingwall Academy pupil was top female at the race which took place on Sunday morning crossing the line in a time of 18 minutes and 37 seconds.

She smashed her previous personal best, running under 19 minutes for the first time in her career.

Heggie says she was delighted with how she performed to claim the women's title and is looking forward to the season ahead.

"I have been really excited for this as it is the first road race in a long time for me," said Heggie.

"I have competed in this race before, but this is the first time that I have won.

"I have the cross country season coming up and I am looking forward to taking part in the relay event next weekend."
