Inverness Athletic have been bolstered by the return of defensive trio Ryan Stewart, Lee Tarran and Liam Downie for their trip to play Golspie Sutherland at King George V Park in the North Caledonian League.

All three missed the 4–2 defeat at Thurso last weekend but are available again for selection as manager Jason Golabek looks to plug his leaky defence.

Athletic lost 4–0 to Golspie in the Highland capital earlier in the month and Golabek is hoping for a better all-round display this time around.

“We will be looking to start the game better than we did at home,” he said.

“We just never got going from the first whistle. We will need to get on the front foot early on if we are going to have an chance of taking something from the game.”

Golabek has encouraged by his side’s recent displays, even though they have not produced the desired results.

“There has been a lot of improvement in the last few weeks,” he said.

“If we can build on last week and not concede silly goals we might get a result.”

The Athletic boss also expects newly-signed goalkeeper Scott Fraser to continue in goal.

“He had a good game last week, I was very impressed with him considering it was his first game at this level,” said Golabek.
