CAMERON Harper says they have to get over the ‘horrible’ position they find themselves and hope results go their way on the final day to get out of the relegation play-off zone.

Inverness dropped to ninth place after a 1-1 draw against Dunfermline Athletic and are one point behind Queen’s Park who thrashed Arbroath 5-0.

Inverness face Greenock Morton while Queen’s Park take on Airdrie on the final day of the regular season on Friday.

Inverness must hope Queen’s Park don’t beat Airdrie on Friday to have any chance of getting out of the relegation play-off zone.

If not, Inverness will face Montrose in the play-off semi final after they are guaranteed to finish fourth in League One.

Harper says it was a ‘gut sinking’ feeling to drop back into the relegation play-off position, but is determined they do all they can to get out of it on Friday night.

He said: “We have to win, we have to give ourselves the best chance and stranger things have happened in football.

“If Queen’s Park get a draw and we get a win, we stay up. We have to go into the game to win it. Hopefully the results go for us and a win at home and we would stay up and we can think about next year.

“But we are all disappointed and annoyed, it is horrible when it is out of your own hands. It is a gut sinking feeling but we have to go into the next game and do our bit.

“You don’t know what to say with these things. Everyone knows it, you can have a shout about it, but everyone understands, they don’t want to be in this position. For me personally it is deflation, we have to pick ourselves up for Friday.”
