Danny Devine believes Inverness Caledonian Thistle owe Hamilton after the previous matches between the two this season.

The Caley Jags have won just one of their last eight matches against the Accies – a 4-0 triumph at the very end of last season – losing all four meetings in 2022/23.

Last time out especially, Inverness felt that their performance deserved far more than the slim pickings they came away with, so Devine is looking for them to be more ruthless tonight to finally claim a victory.

“It’s been a nightmare against them this season, but we’re definitely due one,” he stressed.

“We did everything last time down there to win, but credit to them, they dug it out. We’re frustrated with ourselves in terms of how those games have gone, especially because we actually played quite well.

“We created a lot of chances and just switched off a little bit at the back.

“Maybe it was because we were so dominant, so it’s just about staying switched on.

“Who knows, it could be a completely different game, so we just need to hope it goes our way. We just need to concentrate on ourselves, and make sure we’re ruthless in front of goal and at the back and hopefully we’ll come away with the win

“We know it’s going to be tough, they’re fighting for their lives, but we’ll take confidence into the game.”

A busy schedule will inevitably see a few tired legs taking to the pitch against Hamilton, but with five consecutive league victories ICT should have no lack of motivation either to boost them.

“A few boys have played nearly every game in the last couple of months, but they’ll keep going,” Devine added.

“The boys have done really well, they have kept grinding out wins and we have plenty of bodies there if we do need to change it up.

“We’re definitely confident enough. The last five games have shown that, there’s a good feel about the place.”
