There is a renewed optimism around the promotion race at the Caledonian Stadium after three wins in-a-row in the Championship.

The last few years have seen some close shaves for the Caley Jags, but with several former Inverness players moving onwards and upwards to other clubs in the top flight, the quality has clearly been there.

Obviously the current crop of Caley Thistle players are hoping to get into the Premiership together at ICT, and Duffy feels the final matches of the campaign are an opportunity for them to prove they belong in the company of the country’s elite.

“Everyone is playing for their future,” former St Johnstone defender Duffy stressed.

“People need to prove to the gaffer and to themselves that they are good enough to get out of this league and play in the Premiership for Inverness.

“We just need to really put in those performances and show that we are Premiership quality players.

“Everyone is focused on getting Caley up into the Premiership, albeit we might have to go through the play-offs, which we believe we can do.”

Timing is everything, and Inverness certainly seem to have found a winning formula at a good time.

The challenge now is keeping that going through to the summer and securing a Premiership spot in the process.

“We need to keep putting these types of performances together, and I think the results will come,” Duffy explained.

“We have to keep kicking on, we can’t afford another blip like we had. There are only five games left before the play-offs, and our aim is to get 15 points.

“That’s all we can do, take it game by game and play for every point that’s possible and see where it takes us.

“The league is maybe a little bit of a stretch for us now, but you never know in this league.

“We just need to secure a play-off place and try and get as high as we can in the table. I think these three wins have put us in good stead for that.”
