Darts players on top in James Ross Memorial Trophy in Inverness

Top darts players took part in the James Ross Memorial Trophy held at the Keppoch Inn in Inverness last weekend.

Portland A player Nicky Denoon picked up another victory when he defeated Battlefield Bullies player George Main 4-2 in the final.

Nicky has now won all three of the Memorial Trophies this year.

Losing semi-finalists were Steve MacIntyre, Battlefield Bullies and Sandy Morrison, East End Arrows.

The Ladies title was won by Marian Ogg after a 3-2 victory over Sarah Stephen, with Jacqui Hill and Rhiannon McLafferty making up the last four.

Davy Grant from Tarradale took the Consolation Singles with a 2-0 win against Aaron Manson.

Meanwhile in Perth, Raigmore player Jack Mcneilly won the Grand Finals of the Scottish Youth Development Tour while his team-mate, Robbie Chalmers, reached the semi-finals and Jamie Fraser from East End Arrows was a quarter-finalist.

Culloden Moor Inn player Fiona McEwan lifted her second Kirkwall Ladies Open title.

In the Inverness Winter Darts A League defending champions Portland A moved up to third spot after a 10-2 win over Still Game while East End Arrows and Seaforth Club are top equal with four points each after 9-3 wins over Castle Street Elite and Battlefield Bullies respectively.

Innes Power maintained their 100 per cent record in the B League and are top after a 9-3 victory over stablemates Innes Spikeys.

Newly promoted side 147 Buddies had their first win of the year with a 7-5 defeat of Smithton Hotel and Raigmore recorded an 8-4 win against Thistle Inn who remain anchored at the foot of the table.

C League leaders Culloden Moor Inn had a fine 9-3 victory away to SoBar.

Clachnaharry maintained the pressure on the leaders with a 7-5 win over new team Conon Hotel.

Raging Storm Raigmore were hedkd to a 6-6 draw by Innes X.
