DARTS: Duo make a fine pair to win Dewars Doubles in Inverness

THE Dewars Doubles took place for the first time without founder Jim MacNeil as the event paid tribute to him last week.

The event saw a 30 strong field at the competition which was held at the Innes Bar.

The winning duo this year were Kyle MacLennan and Jordan Morrison who defeated Jamie McNair and Don MacLean Jr 4-3.

Losing semi finalists were Chris MacDonald and James Fraser who lost to McNair and McLean, Robert MacKenzie and Jim Paterson lost to Maclennan and Morrison.

Friday night saw the Norland Distributors out of the hat triples being won by Hollie Ridgers, Marion Ogg and Buddy Budryk.

Saturday saw the Norbord Merkinch Singles was won by James Fraser defeating Colin Fraser 5-1 in the final. Losing semi finalists were Doug Milne losing to Colin Fraser and Budryk Losing to James Fraser.

The Consolation Singles for those losing their first game was won by Davie Fraser beating Richard Woods 3-1.

On Sunday, the Mike Sutherland Shield two person team event was won by Sandy Morrison and George Main.

The prizes at the Dewar Doubles were presented by Tia MacNeil, wife of Jim who founded the tournament, who passed away in June.

Thursday fixtures

A League – Innes Power v Portland A, East End Arrows v Tarradale, Still Game v Seaforth Club.

B League – Innes Bar v Innes X, Legion CSE v Raigmore, Raging Storm Raigmore v 147 Buddies

C League –Clachnaharry v Keppoch Belles, Conon Hotel v Chieftain Rebels, Smithton Pirates v Innes Spikeys.
