Danny Devine has completed his move to Partick Thistle after rejecting an offer from Inverness CT.

DEFENDER Danny Devine turned down a new deal offer at Caley Thistle then made the move to Scottish Premiership rivals Partick Thistle this afternoon (Thursday).

The 23-year-old from Belfast, who joined the club from Wrexham in 2013, made 45 appearances for ICT last season, mainly at the heart of the back line as the club finished an inconsistent season in seventh spot in the Ladbrokes Premiership.

He had been considered by Colchester United, but has been unveiled as a new capture for the Glasgow Jags on a two-year contract.

Manager Richie Foran said: “We made Danny our best offer to extend his stay with us in the Highlands but he has decided that his future lies elsewhere. We wish Danny all the best in his career going forward.”

Foran, who took the place of John Hughes who left the club last month, added freed Newport County forward Scott Boden last week and the club say a couple of other targets are "looking to come to fruition in the near future".

Those who have moved on since the end of the season, other than Devine, are: Liam Hughes, Ryan Williams, Miles Storey, Nat Wedderburn, Calum Ferguson, Dean Brill, Danny Williams, James Vincent, Jordan Roberts and Andrea Mbuyi-Mutombo.

Midfielders Iain Vigurs and Aaron Doran signed new contracts at the end of last term, but Foran knows adding more players before pre-season is a priority.
