WOLVES goalkeeeper Aaron McCarey has agreed a two-year contract with Ross County.
The 24-year-old joins the Dingwall club to provide competition for Scott Fox, who recently signed an extension taking him until 2019.
McCarey was capped six times for Republic of Ireland’s under-21s and broke into the senior squad for a friendly against Spain in New York, although didn’t play.
On-loan Leyton Orient keeper Gary Woods, who played in the Staggies’ Scottish League Cup final win against Hibs in March, has returned to the Os.
McCarey, who has been on loan at Telford, Walsall, York City, Portsmouth, also played for Bury for one game last October.
Overall, he has played only five times for Championship side Wolves, so a move to Scotland’s top-flight appealed.
McIntyre confirmed: "We have agreed to bring Aaron to the club on a two-year contract, which will be finalised next week. He’s a keeper who has played at every level through the ages with Ireland and we feel he brings real potential."
