Jamie MacDonald says training with some of the big names in mixed martial arts is inspiring him to make it to the top of the sport.

The Inverness fighter will be going head to head against Glenn Williams for the Strike and Submit championship in South Wales tomorrow night.

The Highland Martial Arts Centre athlete has been training with Cage Warriors welterweight world champion Ross Houston and Canadian athlete Josh Leduc in Inverness in preparation for the bout.

But the 27-year-old has also been grappling with other MMA stars in the lead up to the fight who he looks to one day emulate.

“I went to Newcastle to prepare for the fight and worked alongside Paul Craig and Phil De Fries who have both fought in UFC," he said.
