Co-captain reaches crossroads in career

FOUR promotions in six seasons mean Rory Cross will always be synonymous with Highland Rugby Club’s meteoric rise.

But the 28-year-old outside centre has taken his final bow at Canal Park after deciding to focus on becoming Highland’s strength and conditioning coach.

Cross, who served as co-captain, stands down with National Two promotion celebrations still subsiding. He agreed the move with head coach Davie Carson last summer.

Carson described his departure as a massive loss after fantastic club service.

The Dingwall Academy active schools co-ordinator felt the time was right for a change.
