CLACHNACUDDIN have signed midfielder Gavin Morrison from Scottish League Two club Spartans.

The experienced midfielder has arrived at Merkinch from the Edinburgh club, having previously played for Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Elgin City, Brora Rangers and Cowdenbeath.

Morrison says he was looking forward to getting back into Highland League football and helping the Lilywhites improve their fortunes on the field.

He said: “I’m excited to be joining Clachnacuddin at this stage in my career.

“I’ve been down the road for five years now so have not seen much Highland League football in that time.

“What I hear is that there is great potential at this club with some talented young players already in the first team.

“I’m looking forward to seeing these players and getting a feel for it myself. It’s important to me that I pass on my experiences and help these younger lads on their own journeys, just like many did for me as a young player.”

Clachnacuddin manager Conor Gethins believes Morrison can have a positive impact on the team.

He said: "This is a signing that shows our intent as coaching staff and club.

Gav has been one of the best midfielders this league has had over the last 15 years, his experience, grit, determination and willingness to win will be very infectious throughout the team and I hope the younger guys feed of it. There were times last season we lacked that leadership when we were dragged into the trenches, if there is one man you want in the trenches with you it\'s Gavin Morrison. We are delighted to secure his signature."
