A bumper crowd is expected after the final was switched to Merkinch from Lossiemouth due to transport issues and the national rail strike which is due to take place on Saturday.

It has been eight years since Clachnacuddin last won a trophy, which was their Highland League Cup victory in 2014.

But it has been two decades since Clachnacuddin last lifted the North of Scotland Cup when they defeated Inverness Caledonian Thistle 2–0 back in the 2001/02 season.

Manager Jordan Macdonald says his team will be prepared for tomorrow’s final, as they look to cause an upset against Highland League heavyweights Brora Rangers.

“We know what we are up against,” said Macdonald ahead of tomorrow’s final.

“Brora are a team who get the ball down and pass it around.

“It will be a good football game, but we are under no illusions how tough it will be.

“We are playing one of the big hitters in the Highland League.”

Brora Rangers beat Clachnacuddin 4–0 at Grant Street Park in the Highland League earlier this season and Macdonald says even in a cup final situation, the venue will not be a factor.

But he is confident that they have enough about them to be lifting the trophy at full time.

“It is a cup final, whether we are at home or not,” he said.

“Big crowd or no big crowd, I just want my players to give themselves a good opportunity of winning the trophy, that is all that I am worried about.

“Since we have come in, we have asked they boys to play a certain way, and we have never changed that way.

“We like to be on the front foot and be attacking.

“Nothing changes and we will attack the game like we do in every game that we play.”

Macdonald is pleased to have a full strength squad at his disposal for the final tomorrow and having options on who he can choose in his starting 11.

“Everyone is fit and available and that means I will have to make some decisions,” Macdonald added.

“We know how tough Brora are going to be, so we know that we have to be at it from the first minute. There is a buzz about the squad and there is no getting away from it.”
