CLACHNACUDDIN manager Jordan MacDonald has urged Robbie Thompson to take his chance at Inverness Caledonian Thistle after being recalled to the Championship club.

The 18-year-old has had his loan at the Highland League club cut short after Inverness head coach Billy Dodds announced he was recalling all of his players on loan back due to their injury crisis where nine first team players are out injured.

Despite Dodds saying he was recalling all players back on loan, full-back Aly Riddle is still believed to be at Clachnacuddin and could be play against Nairn County on Tuesday.

But MacDonald says Thompson has definitely returned to Inverness and hopes he can make an impression at the Championship outfit.

"I confirm that Robbie will not be available for Clachnacuddin on Tuesday as he has been recalled by Caley Thistle.

“It is a shame we’re losing him as his numbers for Clachnacuddin were already higher than the whole of last season.

"There is a chance he could come back later in the season, but on the flip side, I hope he can take his chance.

"Robbie is a great guy and I wish him all the best for the future.

"It is disappointing to lose him, but it now gives somebody else a chance to take his place."

Clachnacuddin have been out of action since their 4-2 defeat against Brora Rangers on Saturday, November 26, with weather calling off their last three scheduled matches.

Clachnacuddin are desperate for a better second half of the campaign, as they are currently in 16th place in the table and eight points above Strathspey Thistle who are bottom of the table.

MacDonald says despite the lack of game time, they have been working hard in training and are prepared for action.

“We haven’t played since losing to Brora Rangers in November,” he said.

“But we have been training hard and looking to get facilities where we can to stay fit.

“We have to be prepared for weather calling off matches, and we are looking to push up the table.”
