The 20-year-old has been one of the most lethal marksman in the Highland League this season, already finding the net 17 times at the halfway point of the campaign.

The apprentice electrician has lit up Grant Street Park with his performances for the Lilywhites, as well as at other Highland League grounds.

Acknowledging he has done well in front of goal so far this campaign, Anderson has set himself a minimum target, but simply wants to score as many goals as he can.

When asked if he thought he would be so prolific in front of goal so early in the season, he said: “I don’t think I did to be honest.

“When you get one and then go on to score another couple you start to believe in yourself.

“My problem previously was that I did hesitate, but you don’t need to think about it.

“When you get a few goals, it gives you the confidence which leads to more.

“At the start of the season, if I got into double figures I would have been delighted. But now, I would be happy if I got 25.

“But as long as the team get the three points, that is the more important thing than the amount of goals I score.”

Anderson hopes he can add to his tally when Clachnacuddin take on Lossiemouth in Merkinch tomorrow.

Clachnacuddin have only played once in December, which was a disappointing 3–2 defeat at home to Wick Academy.

But Anderson is confident they can get their campaign back on track as they look to finish in the top half for the first time since 2013.

“Against Wick we were 2–0 up and we expected to see the game out or kill it off.

“That game was really disappointing from our point of view as we got nervous and stopped doing what we are good at.

“We just have to learn from that and not make the same mistakes in the other games.

“It is definitely our aim to finish in the top half of the table. There is a group in the top seven, but we can be the best of the rest and finish top of the other group of teams.

“We are looking for eighth and if we do what we are good at, we can definitely finish in that position.”
