MANAGER Sandy McLeod was left to lament individual errors as Clachnacuddin went down 3–0 to Huntly at Christie Park.

But he says the scoreline did not tell the full story of the game, saying the Lilywhites missed a number of chances to score.

Clach‘s frustration was made complete when Martin Callum was sent off for a two-footed lunge on Liam MacDonald.

McLeod says defensively his team need to be much better.

“It was really frustrating,” he said.

“We tried to play some football and we got a goal, which we thought was OK, but it was chalked off for offside.

“We had the wind in the second half and we thought we could do win.”

He added: “But we lose another bad goal through an individual error, then we hit the bar.

“We then miss a couple of chances to get back in the game.

“Individual errors are costing us dearly, but Saturday was a tough one to take.”

Huntly took the lead in the 31st minute when a corner kick eventually found its way to Nathan Meres.

He fired in a cross which found Logan Johnstone to score from close range.

Huntly doubled their advantage with 20 minutes to go after Kai Ross forced a great save from Douglas Maclennan.

But Reece McKeown was the first to react to the rebound and scored to increase their lead.

Ross made it 3–0 in the 76th minute as he fired in a low drive to score his eighth goal of the season and wrap up all three points.

Clachnacuddin are scheduled to have this weekend off from Highland League action but are hoping to organise a friendly.

Their next match is against Formartine United on Wednesday, March 4, and is scheduled to take place at Grant Street Park.

The club are hoping to have temporary facilities in place to allow the game to go ahead.
