Clachnacuddin head to Banff to face Deveronvale tomorrow looking to get their campaign back on track as they are still aiming for a top half finish for the first time since 2013.

Clachnacuddin suffered a disappointing 1–0 defeat to Keith at Grant Street Park last Saturday.

Matty Tough scored the only goal of the game 11 minutes from time to give the Maroons all three points.

Clachnacuddin are in 11th place in the division, five points off Nairn County in ninth.

The Lilywhites suffered a 3–2 defeat at home to Deveronvale earlier in the campaign but manager Jordan Macdonald is seeing the trip to Banff as a winnable game.

“They beat us earlier in the season when we were 2–1 up with five minutes to go and we ended up losing the game 3–2,” said Macdonald.

“They will be looking at us and thinking the exact same thing.

“But if we can go down and play like we did in spells on Saturday against Keith we have a chance.

“We created chances against Keith, but we have to take them and we have to defend better at set pieces.”

Clach are likely to be missing two players from their squad ahead of the clash with Deveronvale tomorrow.

Jamie Calder pulled his hamstring which is likely to keep him out for several weeks.

Winger Ross Logan is also a major doubt for the trip to Banff on Saturday after he also sustained an injury.

But Harry Nicolson, who was missing last Saturday, should be in a position to return to the squad this weekend.

Macdonald says he is not ruling out bringing new players into the squad this season, but says there are no current plans to do so.

“We have always said you never know what will happen,” said Macdonald.

“But there is nothing for us at the moment, there have been a couple of injuries from Saturday.

“There is nothing in the pipeline but you never know what will follow up.”

But he is looking for his team to be more ruthless in front of goal after defeat to Keith.

“It was a game we should not have lost and dominated for large spells, but if you don’t take your chances then you put yourself in a situation where you can be hit and unfortunately we did get hit.”
